Kayise Ngqula age

Kayise Ngqula (born on 13 May 1991) is a South African television personality, actress, speaker, and MC. She is best known as the presenter of Our Perfect Wedding.

Sadly, she was in a fatal road accident on 16 June 2019, which claimed the life of her husband. She is a familiar face on the screen and has landed acting roles in several TV shows.

Early Life

Kayise Ngqula was born on 13 May 1991 in East London to a family of three children. She is the eldest child of her parents. At 10, she moved away to Pretoria. In 2008, the actress graduated from The Glen High School in Pretoria.

Career

Ngqula made her debut television appearance as an actress in SABC1’s Mina Nawe. In the series, she played Portia. Her next role on TV was as a journalist (a guest role) in Mzansi Magic’s It’s Complicated in 2016.

Acting created more opportunities for her on screen. She became the presenter of Mzansi Magic’s Our Perfect Wedding. She was on the show for two months and weeks before Nomsa Buthelezi took over. It isn’t clear if she was fired or not.

Ngqula was Our Perfect Wedding Presenter Search Winner in 2017. She founded KNN Media Group, a broadcasting and media production company. 

Kayise launched a new YouTube show, After Dark With Kayise, in celebration of her late husband. She opened up about her personal loss, the grieving process, and healing after losing her husband on the show.

Kayise won the inaugural Our Perfect Wedding Presenter Search on Mzansi Magic in 2017. She was the presenter of Seasons 7 and 8 from 2017 to 2018. She appeared in season 2, episode 181 of the Mzansi Magic telenovela Ring of Lies in June 2018.

In 2019, she landed a recurring guest role as Zandile’s sister in the SABC1 soap opera Skeem Saam. She made her debut appearance in season season 8, Episode 61, in September. The actress played a sister’s wife on the 1Magic drama series iThemba.

In 2020, the actress landed another recurring role playing Beauty in the Mzansi Magic drama series Housekeepers. She played Sister Palesa on the SABC1 miniseries Amazing Grace and hosted the Moja Love reality show Bring Back My Smile.

The actress landed another recurring role in 2021, playing Nelisiwe on the BET Africa telenovela Isono. She made her debut appearance in January 2021.

Kayise Ngqula was married to Farai Sibanda in August 2018. The couple got hitched in a traditional wedding. They had a bouncing baby boy together. She took to Instagram to give fans a glimpse of her traditional wedding. 

Close to two years after her husband’s demise, Kayise Ngqula says she may have found a new love of her life.

Accident

Her union was cut short by fate. In the early hours of 16 June 2019, Kayise and her husband were traveling down in Sandton. The journey was smooth until their vehicle crashed, leaving the two injured.

Sibanda, who was on the wheel, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to ICU. He succumbed to the injuries from the accident in June. The couple had been married for ten months when it happened and had an eight-month-old baby. She became a widow at the age of 28.
