Mogau Paulina Motlhatswi was born on 13 July 1992 in Mogoto village, Limpopo province of South Africa. She relocated to Johannesburg and had her primary school studies. She excelled at athletics, cross country, and netball.
Growing up, Mogau wanted to be a lawyer and then a radio personality. Eventually, after learning about film and theatre, the actress wants to be an impactful and amazing director.

The attacker accused her of breaking the heart of her former boyfriend in the soap opera Thabo Maputla. She did not lay a charge against her attacker but appealed to viewers to learn to differentiate between fiction and reality.
