Early Life
Leera Mthethwa was born on 7 December 1990 in Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa. She has followed her passion for arts since she was thirteen. She registered and attended Pro Arte Alphen Park in Pretoria.
The actress once told her Grade 1 teacher that she would want to be Brenda Fassie when she grew up. She has continued to work, attend auditions, and do MC since 2014.
Education
Leera holds a Bachelor’s degree in Live Performance from AFDA. She furthered her academics at the University of Pretoria.
Career
Many are familiar with her face on Gomora, where she played Jackie Hlungwani, a no-nonsense teacher. She has appeared in many other productions and series. She appeared in Redemption, Generations: The Legacy, City Ses’La, Soul City, and more.

Following the arrest of Dlamini, she assumed the position of the acting principal. Since she couldn’t discharge her duties well, Mr. Nkosinathi Cele replaced her.

Leera Mthethwa has a son. She proudly posts him on social media but has kept the identity of her baby daddy hidden. She had revealed she was in a relationship on social media. The post contained beautiful pictures of roses with a written note – “I’m taken”.
