The singer was a nominee for the South African Awards (SAMA). Her exceptional acting skills won her a South African Film and Television Award. She is the former lead singer of the bands Blackbyrd and La Vuvuzela.

Establishing her presence in the industry was a bumpy ride. She entered the first season of SA Idols and got rejected. She fronted two failed bands and sang as a restaurant singer in Woodstock. She sang five songs a night and three nights a week.

After ten years of hits and misses, Tarryn became the lead singer of BlackByrd. The female band consisted of three members. It topped many charts. Their award-winning debut album, Strong (2012), is one of their known work.

Lamb wrote All for Me, which the Gauteng and Western Cape radio stations voted as the 2012’s SA song of the year. SABC breakfast show Espresso adopted another song she wrote titled I Feel Good Today as their theme song. As a solo artist, she has many hit singles.

The label EMI Records approached them for a record deal. Tarryn Lamb joins Carl Wastie on The Flash Drive on Kfm. She took over from Zoë Brown after he left Kfm in June.

Tarryn has also appeared on television shows such as Suidooster and Binnelanders. She serves as a mentor on Die Kontrak on e.tv. She has co-presented the kykNET hit series Maak My Famous.

Tarryn Lamb met her husband, entrepreneur Mario Thompson, at the restaurant where she sang. The couple got married in St George’s Cathedral.

Reading Crack the Songwriting Code by Clive Ridgway changed her life. She married her fiancé, Lester Timothy, in an intimate wedding with only family and close friends. Her cousin, Tamsyn Maker, a former member of Blackbyrd, tragically passed away in March 2022.
