Early Life
Ayanda Bandla was born in Johannesburg. Shegrew up in Protea North, Soweto. She fell in love with performance as a young child.
Ayanda was in school and church choirs. She comes from a debating background, but her love for the arts led her to where she is today.
Education
Bandla studied political sciences and specialized in international relations at the University of Pretoria.
Career
Ayanda Bandla played Gugulethu, a starring role, in the SABC 1 drama series Identity. She starred as Katlego Nqobile in the Mzansi Magic comedy-drama series Lavish. She played Lakhe Amon in the comedy-drama drama series uBettina Wethu.
Actor Leroy Gopal first discovered Ayanda, and they are now dear friends. He noticed her potential and motivated her to join his acting workshops. She completed the workshops and decided to get an agent. Ayada landed her first acting gig in 2016.
Before fully becoming an actress, she was in media for ten years. She was one of the contestants on the SABC1 reality competition One Day Leader in 2011.
Ayanda played Dr Tumelo Mokoena in Generations: The Legacy. In 2017, she joined Broken Vows as a presenter and landed a role as Lerato Motha in It’s Complicated. She appeared as Nokuthula in the Mzansi Magic supernatural series Omen. She Bandla plays Dr Anelisa Moabe in the medical drama – Vutha.
After graduating, she became an anchor on eTV’s Sunrise breakfast show. Among her works were writing, anchoring, field reporting, recording voice-overs, and producing on the show. She worked at Sunrise between 2011 and 2015.
Bandla contested in the reality competition One Day Leader on SABC 1 in 2011.
